People rarely see the building their website runs in. Here is a short walk through ours.

Power, twice over

Every rack is fed from two independent paths. If one fails, nothing on the rack notices. Batteries carry the load for the seconds it takes the generators to come up.

The interesting part of a data centre is not the servers. It is everything built so the servers never have a bad day.

Cooling works the same way: more capacity than needed, so a unit can be serviced without warming the room.
